Kibera Now
Slum upgrading programs have accomplished little to improve the standard of life for those living in Kibera. To add, the Nubian community has been left out of most discussions regarding the upgrading schemes as well as future development of the land in and around Kibera. Over the last few years, private developers have built apartment buildings on the land surrounding Kibera in anticipation of soaring property values.
